Protecting, Promoting and Celebrating Irish Heritage, Culture and People
For more than a century and a half the Ancient Order of Hibernians have hosted events dedicated solely to Irish history, culture and heritage. From the Annual Walk to the Stone beginning in 1868, the unveiling of the AOH Celtic Cross on Grosse Île in 1909, the annual pilgrimage to Grosse Île and the Irish Memorial each August, the St. Gabriel’s Elementary School Field Trip, to the Annual Mass in the Park at the site of St. Ann’s Church in Griffintown each July, AOH members have covered most of the costs in order to keep events either FREE or at least affordable to all.
